congrats man looks like ya good a good one...u know the basics that all diesels have...exhaust intake and for tuning go with a custom tuned ts...the gauges are the same for all diesels...other than that ur set up with a nice ride

Yeah i think i might wait to tune it though. Another question is what are these motors rated from the factory for hp/tq ratings? i know they prolly arent anywhere close to my 5.9 cummins but im curious as to how long she will last. So far i really like the truck and boy it moves snow alot easier than my old beater plow truck i had:rocking:

I believe the SD's were rated for 245/475ish... Not sure on the torque number. I think the horsepower number is correct... Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

thats better than i thought. As for egts is it the same as my cummins i mean 1250 is as high as u wanna see it and as for boost what do these put out for boost? my cummins does 35-40psi, and what are tranny temps usually???

EGT's - just start paying attention above 1000 and don't hold it over 1250 for longer than you have to.

Boost - Not sure on the SD's but OBS trucks max is 18 so i would say SD must be close to that..

Tranny - Highway driving about 135ish... In traffic about 150-165..Rule of thumb is 100* above ambient temps.

awesome and i see alot of guys talking about HPOP what is that???

95powersmoker 02-04-2011 04:42 PM

HPOP is High pressure oil pump. Located in the front of your engine right in front of the fuel bowl under the HPOP reservoir. Your injectors use High pressure oil to inject the fuel therefore you have a HPOP system which takes oil from the crankcase and pumps it up through the LPOP (low pressure oil pump) and into the res through the HPOP through the IPR (injection pressure regulater) into the heads and eventually into your injectors then spit back into the crankcase...

ok i see. now can a guy get aftermarket fuel systems for these like i have the fass platinum for my 06 dodge or dont these trucks really need em?
