white smoke no power
Im looking at a 01 f350 that starts up fine in the cold but blows white smoke at idle. If you try to rev it up it cuts out bad and pours white smoke it smells like a mist of diesel. Truck has 150k on it and was owned by the railroad. Has a lot of blowby when cold but is started great at 25 this morning. He pulled the air intake and the turbo spins fine but if you block the blowby vent it builds pressure fast.

Sounds like a cracked injector cup, broken nozzle or a cracked piston... Take the oil fill cap off, flip it over and set it on top of the filler neck. It will vibrate off, but it should not blow off.
If it blows off, more or less needs a motor. |
mine was doing this the other day it was cold. but its cause my engine was cold. and had the heater on. once it heated up all was good? idk if this will help.
