Shut down, speedo maxxed, over drive off, and clicking underdash
My current problem is a maxxed out speedo and a overdrive off flashing. I assume thats the speed sensor. Is that a recall too. I know I just replaced the CPS. My next problem is now not just losing power, it just shut off after leaving a stop. It doesnt seem to do it once warmed to up for 20 minutes or so. The last problem is i ocasionally here what sounds like a turn signal by my pedals. I can never catch the problem when i have my head down there. Superlift truespeed, alarm box, trailer brake and computer all down there. Im going crazy over this now please help.
:dang::dang::dang: I added the overdrive off and the clicking noise since my last post only containing speedo and power loseHERE |
I would try unplugging the true speed deal and see if that dose anything
that deals with the speedo and shift points. |
anything? I would like to know what you found

well i changed the oil and fuel filter and show no codes. i know i have another speed sensor out. i just havent gone and got it yet. its on the top of the rear axle.

I would first and foremost remove the true speed. Did you solder the connections when you installed it?
Also you can clean the VSS rather then replace it, they very rarely go bad. When you plug it back in, be sure to use dielectric grease in the connection to keep water out. |
no solder. i was going to pull it out and anything else that is "extra" on the truck and start over. possible a bad ground do you think???? yea ill try cleaning it i dont know what they cost anyways.

I would pull the true speed and go from there. |
its tapped into a black and white wire under the battery. than under dash it is grounded and tapped into i assume the gauge pod. should all four wire be soldered?

If any of those have corrosion in them they will cause all kinds of issues. That is why they say to solder the connections.
I use some high dollar butt splices when I do mine that have a heat sealed shrink wrap, chrimp and solder all in one. The wire will fail before the connection will.:rocking: |
i pulled a lot of the right side of the engine out to access everything. do you think my problem would warrent pulling the dash off? Would my turn signal like sound be caused by relays?
