ATS Tranny?

hey guys im looking into the ATS stage 2 tranny for my 2002 f350 when the time comes to upgrade it. im wondering what you guys thinnk about em or have heard about? are they worth the 5k to do it?

joebob3093 03-11-2014 12:07 PM

I would burn my pickup to the ground before I ever run anything from ATS. They are a shady company with poor customer service to say the least.

Only transmissions I would run is BTS or john woods.

pwerstrokekid 03-11-2014 12:12 PM

Really? in your oppinion which is the better bang for your buck?
whcih has the best warrenties, hold up long and shift better?

joebob3093 03-11-2014 12:40 PM

BTS and john woods have great warranties. I Think BTS is 2 year and they pay shipping, after 2 years you have to pay shipping if something goes wrong

NadirPoint 03-11-2014 01:34 PM

ATS warranty is 5yr/500,000 miles.

joebob3093 03-11-2014 02:04 PM

if you can get them to actually honor there warranty

powerstroke866 03-11-2014 08:24 PM

So you got an axe to grind with ATS? Let's hear it. Exactly why do you think they suck so bad and don't honor the warranty?

powerstroke866 03-11-2014 08:34 PM

I have seen a couple people on forms bash ats but it's forms so it's hear say so I was skeptical at first but talked to the right people and people I personally know that run them and no issues

Heard the same story about them over and over and over. Better read the fine print in there warranty, if you run the wrong type of pixie dust they will tell you to pound sand.

So, pixie dust and a handful of disgruntled dickheads? That's what I thought. :w2:

The reason the Internet amplification factor hits ATS is because they sell so many transmissions. These's a reason for that. There's also a reason why people repeat stuff they hear and post links to stupid web sites: I call it the Internet amplification factor.

It's always wise to check reviews & comments of a product before buying:c:

Absolutely! And what you will find is over 99% of all ATS Diesel customers are happy and well-satisfied with their purchase. Of course there are always going to be a few dumbasses that, for one reason or another, blow their nice new ATS tranny and try to blame it on ATS.

joebob3093 03-12-2014 12:35 PM

I will also take the word of friends who have worked for ATS and know the owner personally when they say he is a piece of shit. I will also buy a transmission built by someone you dont have to worry about them if they will honor there work or not.

And then it gets personal. Isn't that special. Hearsay from your friends holds zero weight in this discussion, unless you want to give names and cite corroborating information. I bet if they actually do exist, they are either deadbeats who got fired for being so, or among or know of the 1% of the dumb asses that blew their tranny by their own ignorance or stupidity and wanted ATS to pick up the tab.

Otherwise it's just the anonymous rant of a forum poster. :tu:

you have your opinion, i have mine

You voiced an opinion, and I gave you the facts as to why it is wrong. Here are some more, not the ramblings of anonymous keyboard commandos on web forums:

Why would I even answer that question? Anyone with their incorrect preconceived notions about ATS would just use it to support their delusion. If I say "yes," of course I must be biased for my friend. If I say "no," then how could I possibly have any credibility in this opinion debate?

Nice try. :w2:

It was just a question

A little research on their warranty problems goes a long way. I have a stock tranny so I'm as unbiased as it gets. I think I've read maybe 1 or 2 disgruntled posts about BTS or JW compared to the vast amount of complaints about ATS. My point is that when I blow 5K on a tranny then it's definitely gonna be from someone with a no bs warranty that actually stands behind their product. It your money so spend however you wish...
