COOLANT OVERFLOWING OUT OF CAP

Im having problems with my first diesel truck. I went on a 300 mile trip when I got to my destination I noticed coolant dripping on the floor. Diesel in the coolant degas bottle. I replaced all 8 of the injector sleeves/cups. Added new coolant but now when I start the truck the coolant instantly over pressurizes and over flows out of the cap and will over heat after a while. If I pull the purge line (I think that's what its called) a steady stream of exhaust comes out of the hose. Im not sure what it could be injector sleeves not set in right? oil cooler? I just cant see a headgasket being blown since ive never had any over heating problems before . Any advice

Sounds like you have a split injector cup or not set right

Is that what would cause exhaust to flow through the purge line? If I leave the purge line disconnected the reservoir doesn't pressurize and the temp of the truck bearly rises. Also my heater not working either.

Well you could be severely overheated if you live northwards where colder maybe frozen water causing blockage are you sure bleed all the air out of the cooling system?

I live in west Texas it's got down to freezing temps but just at night. I tried bleeding the system by running the truck with the cap open but builds pressure in the coolant resiorvoir instantly... The purge line is where the exhaust is flowing in to the tank. I dnt know what to do.. I was thinking about a cylinder compression test but is that done thru the glow plugs. I have a 2002 f350 7.3

Yea you would remove glows and put in your compression tester in the hole, there is instruction somewhere on here how to make a cheap compression tester just use the search box you'll find it

Ok sunrise I'm going to do compression test and a leak down test . I found the thread for the home made compression gauge thanx... What else do you think would be causing exhaust to come out of the hose connecting to the back of the resiorvoir tank?

Found out injector sleeves weren't sat in all the way and was leaking coolant... On my way to pick some new ones up...

glad you found it!
