Where does it come from?

He installed new injectors and (Its been years so I cant recall for sure) didnt install O rings on the injectors or didnt install them all...

What amazed us all is the truck would even start! But it had fuel running out of the exhaust pipe.

Same guy that left a rag in his turbo intake and found pieces of it in the intercooler!:nope:

i think i got the truck fixed today. i decided i should replace the injector o rings to rule that out, plus an international dealer suggested i might have a cracked/broke injector nozzle.. i found 6 of the 8 injector hold downs were loose, on cylinder 3 the brass ring on the bottom of the injector was not in there and the o rings were burnt up, on cylinder 4 only half of the brass ring was there.both injector ends were covered in carbon..i inspected the injectors and found no cracks or damage, cleaned everything up and put 8 new sets of o rings on the injectors. i replaced 5 dead glow plugs..the truck seams pretty good now. it did have a lot of white smoke and really hard start at first, but it cleared up with a drive..the oil level stayed the same..the truck seams to get pretty bad fuel mileage,i drove 10-15 miles, the fuel gauge dropped almost a 1/4 a tank (it might of just settled or something??)

i bet you still have problems. change the oil too.

j1mmy 11-17-2011 09:16 PM

i changed the oil when i changed the o rings. it was a gallon over full with fuel

if the white smoke doesn't clear up pretty soon after startup, then you should have saved your time and money on the orings and just done a set of budget injectors instead. Also, you might get a contribution test done on her before you drive too much on it. you could have a bad couple of injectors just from having carboned up nozzles from the other probs you found.:argh: These things are soooooo simple, yet sooooo overly complicated.

the truck fires up and runs great now..no smoke at all

when i replaced the injectors in my 94 it smoked white for a little bit and i thought i did something wrong. but it cleared up. now it runs better than ever.
