Your IDM is fine..

What rpms are you seeing on the tach?

You only need 500psi oil pressure to start...

You also need fuel pressure. Which if you have fuel getting to the head, I would think its alright...

You are getting a WTS light correct?

tach shows about 100 rpm when turning over engine. i moves a bit and isnt steady at a hundred. WTS light works and i can hear the clicks from solenoid.

there is a sensor on the hpop res that i found thats broken, its located towards the bottom in front of the fuel bowl, not sure what it does, i took it out and it looks like a temp sensor for the oil in the res, could this somehow impede the starting of the engine.

Is it big and black? Towards the drivers side bottom of the HPOP? That is your EOT sensor. I doubt it would cause a no start though. As soon as its unplugged, It should default to a set parameter.

i found a diagram on the web showing the route of fuel and i am wondering if the pressure regulator on the fuel side could be keeping fuel from moving around..

I thought there was fuel getting to the head?
I think I would start working towards finding out if there is HPO getting to the head...

i agree, im starting to think the injection pressure regulator is to blame. the tech that checked out my truck said pressure was building but dropping off to fast after cranking so maybe the ipr is sticking open. might just put a new hpop on even though its expensive..

I would pull the IPR first... Might be orings?

can you give me some pointers on how to remove the ipr, does it have to come out with the HPOP. I was also told by a friend that i should pull the injectors and turn the engine over to check if oil and fuel is coming into the hole where inj would be. Im thinking i read somewhere i need to pull the oil plugs from back of the head if so where are they and can i get to them and is it going to hurt the chamber to have oil and fuel sitting there for a couple of hrs, i really dont want to make my problems worse but really do want to get to the bottom of this.

I think this should help you out for the IPR.

As far as removing the injectors and turning it over, I'm not sure that I would do that. I can only imagine that being a serious mess...

I did that once back in 2006, parked in a friend's driveway, before installing new injectors. Let's just say that his wife is still FURIOUS :bat: about the fuel and oil that ended up on her new car and the house. :s: Not recommended :td:
