Injector Size?

My recently purchased powerstroke is supposed to have newer upgraded injectors. How do I find what type they are? PO said they were 150 somethings. He never could tell me if the 150 was hp or cc's or? Thanks for the awesome site!:rocking:

Need alot more info...

Flow bench type info, to be sure about what they are.

Swamps sells a 150cc injector to OBS guys though, supposedly the factory 15* pump can keep up with a 150cc single shot.

So there is no way of telling what type they are without removing them and putting them on a flow bench? No markings or anything will be found on the injectors if I remove them? I'm new to this diesel thing but i'm loving it already.

Yeah you get addicted quick...

And no, the injectors will have a code on the solenoid tellin you what they were stock, but there's no way to visually tell what they are if they've been modified. All injectors start as AA's, AB's, AC's, AD's, B-codes, etc.

More than likely you have swamps AA's stroked to flow 150cc's, stock AA's came in the OBS PSD's, and only flowed about 90cc's. AA's and AC's are single shot's too.

Does anyone else make a 150cc injector?

Sure, anyone that wants to stroke the intensifier piston Xmm can make a 150.

Swamps is the only one I know of that does though.

Everything else on the truck is stock (so i was told) Should the truck smoke with a bigger injector? The truck won't smoke at all right now which is ok with me for now. I'd like to build some good reliable power in the near future.:rocking: Best route to go?:c:

Well, if there is a factory nozzle on those injectors, and it's running factory tuning, then it's not injecting any more fuel than the factory injector had to offer.

Factory nozzle flow's XX cc's in 3.0 ms of PW.

So, it doesn't matter how much you have on tap, if the programming is only asking for 3.0 ms of PW.

Make sense?

You won't see anything out of them until you get some tuning. And I strongly recommend knowing exactly what you have before you buy tuning, so the tuner can set up those parameters properly.
