idk why your saying you can only get about 300 RWHP out of stage ones and that they will only smoke alittle, because with custome tunes and the stuff you listed will get you up to almost 350 RWHP with bigger tunes such as extreme tunes and such., i would recomend a better turbo to reach that but 350 RWHP is very easy to get out of stage one injectors. and they will smoke alot if you get a chip that is tuned for it and stuff.

But other wise i really do agree with you on every thing else. TWINBOYS thier is nothing worse for your truck than stuff your putting into it, i wanted water/meth untill some custome tuners told me they would suggest straght water due to the amount of blow head gaskets they have seen.

And CSIPSD please dont be mad over what i have said, im sure you know alot about diesels but from what i know thats what you can get out of stage ones im not trying to fight with you or anything im just simply saying thats all so please dont get upset over this

Because on stage ones are only about 140-160CC injectors, and depending on the nozzle size and tuning that is what most will see... I really doubt you will see a OBS put down 350 with stage 1 injectors. I have never seen it, and thats alot of dyno events...LOL

Mad? LOL going to take more then that to get mad...

FYI... Smoke is bad... I try to keep it to a minimum anymore, it gives us a black eye to the rest of the world.

yes i know smoke is bad but with high enough tunes and a bigger turbo you can reach around 350 with stage ones, im thinking about going with stage 2s myself and a d66 turbo but i dont want to torch my auto tranns, to be honest i wish i had a manual real bad. but i will prolly go with 2s and see where that puts me for HP

Stage 2's and a D-66 will put you right at 370-380 with a typical high mile HPOP... With a 17* pump you will be right at the 400hp mark.

It really doesnt matter how high your tunes are, there is only so much fuel to give out of a stage 1 injector, about 140-160 depending on the builder...

Even stage 1's will be really taxing your tranny. Have you done anything to it? Valve body? TC?

powerstroker52 06-09-2009 05:25 PM

nah i was going to put a shift kit in it but the guy at the ford dealer told me to leve it because my chip changes my valve body so i did, the tranns is brand new and has hmmm about 300 miles on it and a 3 year warrenty so if it brakes i just take my chip out and get a brand new one.

It would do you good to put a valve body in it and have the shift pressures taken out of the chip. You do not want to make all your tranny changes electronicly. Its very hard on the pump.

IMHO...:U:

My horsepower goals are to get all the horsepower I can without breaking the bank. Injectors, hpop, and chip are on the bubble. Rods and studs are out of the question. I cannot justify stage 1's as easily as stage 2's which pushes it further off the back of the bubble. If I don't like what I get with methanol/water, it or the propane can go onto my basicly stock 96. I rarely use the propane now, and it is an awesomely smooth boost controlled unit. I will testify to nearly fifty percent increase in power, without a 100HP. ceiling. Because of the principles of operation it will not add 50% power to methanol/water. I plan to use mostly water. Both the propane and water can be adjusted down.

well you have to be real careful with water/meth or you will blow a head gasket quick as shit.

Here is what your pistons look like from all the propane...

See the cracks at 11-12-1 and 5-6...

Propane advances timing, bumps Cylinder pressures thru the roof, and in anything more then about 20hp shot is nothing but bad for your motor.

Really the water/meth is safer the the propane... I have been running water injection for well over 80,000 miles without one issue. 90% of the time I run straight water for the cooling effect, but when on the dyno I have run up to 50%... You really see no gain going from a safe 40% to a knocking banging 50%..

40% with my mods gave me about 60hp...

powerstroker52 06-09-2009 07:02 PM

yeah im going to run straight water through my truck just to drop EGTs, and ive herd it gives your truck a little extra power as well so im gunna give it a shot pluse my injectors and my turbo i should be in good shape:U:
