6.7 powerstroke power levels

i was wondering what is the power rating for fords new 6.7?iv read in magazines that is about 390hp/750torque but i asked a ford dealership & they said it was 500hp/800torque im a dodge guy through & through iv just been curious since they came out

DieselDanBoy 12-14-2010 10:41 AM

390hp/720 torque for the Ford

bluedieselram 12-14-2010 10:59 AM

thank iv just been wondering since they came out

DieselDanBoy 12-14-2010 06:12 PM

no problem :c:

prison 12-14-2010 06:31 PM

um i believe its 400hp 800lb. ft. 6.7L Power Stroke Specs

5.9Bronco...eventually 12-14-2010 07:15 PM

yep its 400hp 800ftlbs. for the 6.7L Ford Powerstroke after such and such a date. When Chevy released their power numbers they put out a slightly bigger tune. Didnt change anything that much just bumped each number to the next hundreds place

prison 12-14-2010 07:25 PM

yep and any truck without that tune can be updated by the dealer

for FREE.....

prison 12-14-2010 08:41 PM

yep. see this is why ford is the only company who didnt need a bailout. Cuz our trucks dont ask for hand outs they just kick ass and take names :tu:

bluedieselram 12-15-2010 10:01 AM

not trying to start a war or nuthing but why does ford use cummins engines in its class 8 trucks instead of the powerstroke?

I think with the new 6.7 that issue will be corrected soon...

Because powerstroke is a more light duty automotive/ light truck engine built for ford by international. They prolly use cummins in their big truck because its cheaper than tooling for building large engines and such imo.

prison 12-15-2010 10:56 AM

at boces we have a 6.0 in our IH dump truck too so its probably a financial decision by ford. they are a smart company that has beaten the recession and with the 6.7 i would not be surprised to see that going into the heavier trucks. that is also a smart financial move they'd make

CoalTrain99 12-20-2010 11:42 AM

All i know is 400 horse or not im not impressed i drove one and bought a dodge..Some guy had one the other day and lined up against me at a red light and was power breaking and spinning his tires i gave him a little smirk and when the light turned green a completely ran off and left his ass..i have a 2008 dodge with all the deletes the programmer was on stock im trying to get good milage and i have a 5 inch flo pro TBE it was no where near close.

wittcs 12-21-2010 10:11 PM

Lets see hear, you drove a new 2011 ford and bought a 2008 dodge and not a 2010 dodge. You still have mods, and he was turning at that light. I have a 2011 and have not found a stock truck that can run with it.

Lange503 12-21-2010 10:52 PM

my dad's 6.7 will run right next to my 7.3, i've been really impressed with the MPG and the power these things have right off the lot

Im callin BS here :argh:

Sounds like the Ford guy either lost traction and couldn't put it to the ground or your programmer wasn't actually on stock.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Either that or he just wanted to let you get the ticket lol

Lange503 12-24-2010 04:11 PM

ha i've done that to a kid that drives a 5.9 CR.... teach him to pipe me :w2:

jstange2 01-08-2011 08:08 PM

My 2006 dodge with the smarty on 9 had nothing on my 2011 ford. The dodge was dog in comparison.

Do you even own a truck? Or do you just post pictures of other peoples work?

Still trying to pass off someone elses twin turbos as yours???

There very nice trucks, I would expect some turbo changes in the next year or so, they have some high altitude issues.

Thats what I would expect out of 4-5 years of tech...:tu:

CoalTrain99 01-21-2011 09:20 AM

Well you must live in a town of about 5 people:c: and i bought the 08 because i got a hell of a deal on it. And im pretty sure my exhaust isnt going to give me 40 horse to be equal with the ford.

Actually its a 50 horse difference. They're runnin 400hp and 800tq now. Believe your 6.7 is at 350hp?

CoalTrain99 01-21-2011 12:43 PM

So you mean most of those mods I read in his sig are fake? Dang I really though he actually had a bad truck.......

But I can believe it if hes saying his "stock 6.7 Cummins" beat a stock 6.7 powerstroke.

His twins... are in his mind only...

As is 95% of whats in his sig. He gets called out about once a month when he posts dumb made up crap.

Stock for stock the Powerstroke has more HP...

Hmmmm all kinds of crazy people on this forum.

And true about the powerstroke. A difference of 10hp might make other factors (driving ability, etc.) to become more important, but its hard to say that with a difference of 50hp.

jstange2 01-22-2011 07:31 PM

150 ft.lbs. torque extra too

We are not discussing my Race Truck that was SOLD months ago. I own a 2008 6.7 Dodge now so CSIPSD please go run your cockholster to someone else. But yes i did run a new 6.7 Ford from a dead stop with my programmer on stock all thats on my dodge was the exhaust and xrt. And i did beat him by a good 3 links, him being a 4x4 contributing to the weight difference of my 2wd swb quad cab could have been the difference idk im just saying not impressed at all. I could find a cheaper truck and alot better ways to spend 60k:w2:

Bummer you sold it... Now we will never get to see any pictures of your "twin turbo" set up...

Unless of course you would like to post up some pictures of BigR's Turbonetics set up again...

Which is fine, it was good for a laugh. I am always up for an epic failure thread...

What I think is an epic fail is his status: "sold the Ford and got a Dodge"

And if ya try to gripe, Im on CumminsForum and get ragged on consistently for driving a Ford, so I feel I can do the same to Dodge guys every now and then :moon:

gunman41mag 01-26-2011 07:38 AM

I just finish reading MOTOR TREND FEB/2011 & they picker the CHEVY HD over the FORD SD truck:s::s:

CoalTrain99 01-26-2011 07:56 AM

I am not hating on Ford Ill drive anything but a Duramaxipad. My ford was a great truck but i like my dodge just as much. Im just saying i was not impressed with the speed of the new 6.7..hp and tq levels yes that is legit for a stock truck.

Well the Chevy is a nice truck and the Dmax is a pretty good engines nowadays. Really it wouldnt hurt my feelings if they picked any of the big 3, I think they've all got pretty good trucks right now :tu:
