Default P2043 Code & DEF/DPF delete?

Hey Everyone,

I am looking at a truck to take to Mexico. I am concerned about the lack of availability of ULSD in Mexico so have limited my search to older trucks until this morning.

Today I ran across what MAY be a good buy for me on a 2011 Ford. It is showing a P2043 code.

Will using a programmer to delete/disable the DEF & DPF clear the code?

I am thinking that these are not required in Mexico and are the parts that demand ULSD. If I delete them will the computer ignore the failing heater/sensor?

Thanks.

S.

Thank you for the link. Cool site with good info.

The question remains.... Will the DPF delete address the code?

When you do the deletes, you will bypass the egr, dpf, def

Will it supress the P2043 code when it does?

I found a thread on another board that gives the impression that when you program the delete that you can remove the DEF tank. I am guessing that would indicate that a failing sensor will be ignored.

I am reluctant to purchase the truck based on my best guess that the delete kit will resolve the CEL & p2043. Just want to make sure before I drop a bunch of $$

Thank you Gunman.

It seamed like it should but things don't always work the way I think they should......

I found a MiniMax "kit" with all of the exhaust pieces for about $1200.

I am not familiar with that one. The MiniMax appeared to be a popular choice among folks posting.

I would welcome any advice regarding programmer choice. My goals are: DEF/DPF delete, fuel mileage improvement, modest HP gain and gauges.
