Delete questions.

Okay guys I'm sure this is posted somewhere, I just can't find it. (Note: it's a buddies truck). So we need to get rid of the big ugly dpf. And maybe the egr. My questions are what tuner do I need to delete and where can I get one? How much do they run? 4 or 5 inch straight opinions? Yanking it off doesn't bother me but I need to do the deletes and do them right. Thanks in advance.

I bought a H&S XRT PRO tuner{make sure the tuner you buy will DELETE the DPF}
I deleted the DPF, EGR, & CAT.
I replaced the stock air-filter with a AFE PRO DRY S
I'm using the factory exhaust
My 2008 F-250 6.4 is fast:rocking:

+1 on the XRT Pro. Mini Max is more expensive with gauges that are tiny anyways

Spartan ndash S&B intake 5in diamond eye to take out some of the jet afterburner . The big the exhaust give it more rumble and less jet sound. Absolutely 100% pleased with Spartan and they back their product with excellent customer service if anything was to ever go wrong. Security well worth the extra dime.

Reading With Interest

Gunman and co. I've been reading with interest. I'm considering a stock exhaust R&R with a straight pipe and support electronics etc... Similar to the set up you describe.
I'm also interested in the products you've invested in as I think they'll do the job. I'm looking for power and fuel efficiency - ok fine, I drive like grandpa, pull a 4-horse or a large 5th wheel. Mostly I want efficiency. But every once in a while...

Can I get some feedback on realistic fuel efficiency. Real numbers not 'the extra power has made my right foot weigh more' numbers, reliability, and cost I can plan to pay.

Now for the kill-joy. I already know it's governmentally frowned upon to mess with the emissions equipt. The county I live in will likely institute emissions inspections soon and I'm worried about getting a notice that says no DPF + no cat = no registration. If I go straight exhaust I'm not tossing the stock until I have to face the emissions music.

Granted I have a f450 with 4.88 rears, 80mph is as fast as it will go but if I keep it under 72mph highway I end up in the low 15's, and in town I can get mid to high 13's. Which is much better then the 6 town and 9 highway I was getting before deleting.

As for cost, with the Spartan, 5in flopro, intake, and egr kit, all of which was bought in a kit from rudy's the egr kit was a add on. I paid just under $2200. For me tho with the mileage jump it has already paid for itself. Trucks still running so I guess that's a good thing. Any time you put spent exhaust back into a motor or have high egts for extended periods of time it can't be good.

When I asked about the MPG from DPF delete tuners, I was told that since the trucks are to be driven off highways & raced on the tracks that the DPF delete tuners were not tested for increased MPG:humm: I did the DPF deletes on my truck so it would last longer, extra power is excellent for passins, & as a bonus my MPG has increased, since I don't drive gentle I don't know how good my MPG can be:nope: I drive my truck like stole it & i'm getting 13 MPG in the city (MIAMI has bumper to bumper traffic)
