Oops, sorry about that, Rotella T, 15W40. Either way, it tested good at 10K. I iI plan to keep going that route until the OA says otherwise.otherwise.

My last oil change I just put in some of the valvoline premium blue NON synthetic. It is probably the worst oil I've run thus far. It is what cummins recommends I believe. My stiction was far more noticeable with this oil over the standard non synthetic Rotella I had been running. Added two bottles of rev-x and it still sticks a little bit.

Stay away from any AMZING oil claims on extended intervals. Change your oil at no greater than 10k intervals. As Mdub has posted your truck will tell you what oil works best. I would recommend Mobil 1, Valvoline Extreme Blue, or T6. Use only MC/Fram filters and a oil by-pass filter

Yes i just installed my oil by pass kit using the aimsoil 20 micron filter mounted beside the coolant by pass filter and using T6 Rotella oil...

I also plan changing at 10 thousand miles...

I like the idea of filtering out more shit and debris from engine...

I know it can not be good for bearings and filters and screens:tu:

I hope that you mean 2 micron filter....the stock 6.0 filter is 20 microns :tu:

Power Stroke Diesel - Power and Pride

I would sample at 5-6k just to make sure all is well. :c:

Just bought shaffers synthetic and rev x hopefully it was money well spent because my wife flipped when she found out how much I spent on an oil change hahaha she drives a jeep and looks for places in the pennysaver where an oil change for her costs like ~$20 so 200 for oil to her is just insane so now its costing me 300 because i had to give her hush money so she could get her hair done... Haha

Ol hotrod has been running Delo 400 in the FORD diesels form '85 and '88 IDI's. Buy it in 55 gal drums, and change out around 7K miles. NO probs. My '05 PSD has same, but am about to try the Shell Rotella T6 synthetic as the last drum of Delo 400 is dry.. I am not talking about the Delo 400 M or whatever it is. It is not the same, and IMHO, unworthy of the Delo 400 nameplate.

Longtime friend and associate is a 40+ year SCE employee and relates that Delo 400 is the only oil used by Edison in their diesels. Also read a oil test thing online which rated oils. Syn's were higher than dino, and Delo 400 was the highest rated dino w/ Shell Rotella T5 a close second, but no cigar...

Hey, it's like the lady sez: You spends your money, and you makes your choice... :yeah:

Just curious, what oil comparison are you talking about?

baddodges 04-15-2012 08:16 AM

Our BG rep came by our work and did a break down demo of your leading g oils very interesting stuff.the Mobil one failed miserably.this was breakdown analyses done by the BG corporation. The top gasoline oil was wallmart brand very shocking.reason being to avoid lawsuit they put tons of money into producing the best oil its made by penzoil. The top diesel oil was chevron dello. Now I by no means am telling you what to buy just sharing info.of course he trying to sell us a lubricant additive for oil called DOC.not much into oil additives but im gonna give it a try.

Mdub707 04-16-2012 10:28 AM

Your truck will let you know what it likes. The 6.0 is in a class by itself, being that our motor relies on the oil not only for lubrication, but how well it physically runs. Our diesel counterparts (duramax and cummins) don't have to worry about this.
