Programmer Decision

Have a 2007 f-250 super duty 6.0. I was wondering what everyone thought.. to go with the Edge Insight CS juice with attitude or the CTS livewire? Also, how much hp can I add before I need to purchase a different fuel delivery system like the airdog?

I would suggest going with sct for a programmer. Lots of choices and tunes all the way up past 200hp. You can add quite a bit bf you need more fuel but you will more than likely run into other issues before fuel. Blown head gaskets, egr cooler problems...

Oh ok. Well as far as the head gaskets go and the EGR cooler I do have ARP studs, black onyx head gaskets, and the Sinister Mfg. EGR delete kit. So hopefully I'll be okay with that stuff. Thank you for your info.:rocking:

I have the EDGE Evolution. I like it alot and it has bunch of parameters to monitor without having to buy gauges. The tunes also adjust your tranny. The tnues that allow you to change "on the fly" do not adjust the tranny and are said to eventually cause damage. Alot of people suggest the SCT as well.

Do you have to buy guages with the SCT? I did read it monitors some but it doesn't say anything about all the others like the Edge does.

You can get just an SCT programmer or step up to something like the livewire, which is also a monitor, and they also have the SCT TSX which is touch screen extreme. I'd recommend getting it from one of the more well known tuners too, as they will include tunes for free. Keep reading and searching for it, the info is here.

Oh ok. Thank you!

Also mdub707, it is not related to this topic at all, but I saw your picture and was wondering how wide and tall your stacks were? They look very good how you have them!:tu:

6" mitres from MBRP. I believe they're 36" tall. I'm going to be cutting them down another couple inches, I want them flush with the cab or 1" under or so.

Oh ok. They look good on your truck, but yea going flush with the cab would be perfect.:tu:

Okay, so I read more information and it seems some people suggest using the separate guages rather than trusting the OBD ones on the programmer. Is there a reason behind this? Also, does the SCT livewire let you monitor all the parameters that the Edge would?:humm:

I suggest this to my buddies because adding an OBD port reader is just redundant, it's only copying what the stock stuff sees IMO. If something went haywire there, you'd be getting funny readings. Its just a thought, doesn't mean it's going to happen. I just prefer stand-alone gauges.

Not sure on the livewire vs Edge, but I'd imagine they're pretty comparable.
