i have had a chance to change the filter yet. but last time i drove it, which was just to town and back. the gauge seemed to be in normal range. i didnnt get the low oil pressure on the dash.

I would think that it was a guage or the oil presser sensor becuse if you loose any kind of oil pressure your truck will run really bad or die becuse they use high pressure oil to run the fuel injectors and it takes a minn of 500lb to operate the injectors but i would be carefull. How is the truck running?
so it may have an issue on the low side without effecting the way it runs |

Good link
I don't for the life of me get why people stray from motorcraft filters ? specially when "diesel filters online" makes them affordable |
i usually do use motorcraft. just the last time i changed my oil i was near a napa and just ran in grabbed one.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- that is good link. gonna put a motorcraft filter back in there asap. |
ok changed the filter, turns out it was a motorcraft filter in there after all. i think it was napa gold fuel filters i put in. but i went on about a 30 min drive and while i am on the throttle the oil pressure is ok. but when i let off or at idle. it reads ZERO. so im thinking there may be something more going on, the pump its self? any ideas?:humm:
