The truck is runnin fine, check engine light came on after it was -26.

You can always go to an Advance Auto or similar parts store, almost all of them will read codes for free for you. Once you have the code, post back here and we can help you out.
If not, you might try signing up on the larger powerstroke sites (powerstroke.org) and (powerstrokenation.com) and see if someone is local to you and can help you out with a scanner. |

Well now the turbo has a bad bark to it. it still builds boost fine, but when you let off the throtle it barks bad.

If your in California most autoparts stores will carry the scanner. But they will not or cannot scan the truck for you. Its some stupid Smog regulation thing tht prevents them from doing it. So have to go to local dealer or an autoshop and pay for scan. Or the best bet is find a friend or a freind of a freind who will read the codes for you.
As far as I kow I have tried Napa/ Autozone/ Gregin/ Pepboys and no one will scan. Used to be Autozone would scan for free. |
