2005 Super duty no boost idles fine no power
 

Hello I’m new here I have a 2005 super duty 6.0 all of a sudden I had no boost no power , this is what I have done , changed map sensor checked hose to map sensor , new EGR , new fuel filters , new air filters , cleaned EBP sensor and tube , checked tubes and boots , still have same problem no boost no power , idles great , when trying to drive it I get a terrible hot smell like plugged cat would do , but cat not plugged . Cannot hear turbo spooling, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get ForScan Lite on a smartphone and pull codes.

Also - check the VGT connector at the turbo.

Have you had the turbo out recently?

Hello thanks for replying, I checked the plug to turbo seloniod . Haven’t had turbo out truck has 130,000 miles on it always ran great , the codes I am getting is low turbo boost , low map sensor correlation, 0299 , 0069 and for some reason 1,3,7 glow plug issue I changed glow plugs and harness last summer along with glow plug module,

Pull the MAP sensor hose see if its leaking or plugged up with carbon. Check the nipple on the intake to see if it is plugged.

Post MAP, Baro, and EBP readings at KOEO.

For the P0299 - post the VGT % duty cycle value (commanded value - not an actual valve position) at cold idle, hot idle, highway speed (cruise), and on acceleration.

Thank you I will pull turbo tomorrow and let you know how it goes , sorry the images turned out so bad I tried to get readings of everything I could , the guy that let me use his AutoEnginuity was in a hurry kept rushing me , thanks for all your input

I pulled the turbo and it was a mess the unison ring was stuck , the vanes were also stuck cleaned it put it back together and problem fixed thank you so much for your help
