thats being a lil narrow minded dont you think??? the 7.3 has their quirks as well, have you ever driven a 6.0? as for the 6.4 with about 2K and DPF delete and Spartan Diesel tunes that 6.4 will prob do more than the 6.0 and 7.3 ever will.

true i might have reacted too quick jhust hard to break habits ive had a 7.3 since my 92

I'll own a 6.0 in a heartbeat... just get some studs, EGR delete, and open up the exhaust, and some tunes and you're rocking and rollin! Earlier ones had some injector problems also, but hell, when something breaks, upgrade it! :choochoo:

The 6.4;s are bad ASS when opened up... I just can't see myself doing that to a truck that is still under warranty for a several more years/ couple hundred thousand miles just to have some fun now...

I have a 2005 6 litre and it blows hot coolant out at the resivoir. Just wondering what my problem is?

I have just learned something recently while I'm now in the process of gathering all needed stuff to do my EGR delete and headstud modification/upgrade(should be done in the next 2 weeks:U:)......While all the posts here are true and should be checked....apparently the OIL COOLER is known by Ford techs to cause coolant to blow out of the degas bottle, what happens, in a nutshell, is the oil cooler gets clogged and causes coolant to sit still and along with egr boiling the coolant at the same time and "poof" out comes the coolant, ok so to check this you will need to be able to monitor coolant temp and oil temp, this can be done via scanner plugged into diag. connector....with engine and all systems to full operating temp, the oil temp and coolant temp should not be anymore than 25 degrees different..max..at all times....if the diference between the two exceeds 25 degrees you will see the coolant start to back up and out the bottle...now I have not seen this, I was informed by a good friend of mine who is a Ford diesel tech, I've been lucky and have not had any coolant problems with my 04, hence the mods now...just wanted to share....hope it's helpful.

Dude is that really called for....

Ymmot has one and after studs and a tuner it flat rips and hauls heavy aswell. After a few mods the 6.0 can be pretty reliable and a power house aswell.

I had an '05 with all of the above mentioned problems. It started with the coolant coming out of the jug because of the egr and the Edge module, then the oil cooler "blew", then the egr cooler again, then the head gaskets. I got sick and tired of that truck being in the shop so, at 85,000 miles, I traded it for an '06 just like. It's got 60,000 on it now and it hasn't been in the shop yet. I love this truck.

I would rather have a 7.3 seems like all the guys that have 6.0 go back to 7.3
