The egr delete will make a huge reliability difference I'd hold off on the tuner till you do the head gaskets and arp studs a decent tuner will give you a extra 125 hp it's enough to cook the back tires right off your truck

Yeah the thing about the egr delete kit is a specific brand better then the other ones since I mean I see everyone has a sinister or some other brands what makes the difference

Since your new to this, I'll just go ahead an put together a list for you. It don't take much to make these 6.0's quick.

I wouldn't delete it, I'd get the Bullet proof diesel EGR Cooler "fix" they did a great job with making a kit that fixes the restrictive cooler. I gave you the link for the newer fixed cooler.

Yeah I was reading just though I would ask to see if anyone of you guys had seen or have a egr cooler instead of the actual delete and what difference would it make

Taken from BDP's sight. It's all right there.

You’ve probably been told...

“An EGR delete is the thing you need...”

“The EGR cooler is the problem - just delete it”

“You don’t even need that EGR cooler, just get rid of it”

Here is what you didn’t hear...

1. An EGR delete will set your check engine light.¹

2. An EGR delete is NOT the “end all” solution that most believe it to be.

3. An EGR Delete is ILLEGAL in ALL 50 STATES.
• All vehicles are required to meet Federal emissions standards.
• The penalty for an emissions component alteration can be in the thousands of dollars.

4. An EGR delete causes the vehicle to pollute.

Here's your solution, Bullet Proof Diesel EGR Cooler.

1. The BPD EGR cooler is extremely reliable.

2. Has a lifetime parts-only warranty.

3. The BPD EGR cooler WILL NOT set the check engine light.

4. The BPD EGR cooler will allow the EGR system to function the way it
was intended to work.

5. Combined with the Bullet Proof Oil Cooler you get a Bullet Proof solution for the 6.0

The choice is yours. No further input needed.:tu:

The EGR cooler and the EGR valve "both located on the intake manifold" Are prone prone to leaking. The Cooler is what you will be replacing. The complete egr delete kits comes with:

EGR Valve plate - Plate replaces EGR Valve. 2 bolts. Simple install
EGR Cooler Removal - Replaces EGR Cooler with "j" pipe. Replaces uppipe from passenger side manifold. This is the extensive part. Removal of turbo, injector harness, degas bottle, fuel/oil filter housing, INTAKE MANIFOLD, intercooler piping. All this comes off for the install. When replacing the EGR COOLER being that all is torn down anyway and is the FIRST thing to do to these trucks, I would replace the STC fitting on the HPOP while I was there and ensure the updated drain tube was installed. New intake manifold gaskets and a turbo gasket/oring kit will also be needed. I highlyyyyy reccommend Sinister Diesel for the EGR delete as they are most reputable for that specifically. Bullet proof diesel is great as well.

Exactly what TheyCallMeCountry said. If you are going for power though in the long run, pull that POS off lol. The Valve will clog with soot, maintainence is a must and everytime you work on your rig it has to come off unlike the deleted one. Not knockin ya TheyCallMeCountry just advising that the illegal side is better for the longevity of the 6.0. 100% though for the legal way good write up.

All right. Thank you guys for the info
