Exhaust leak after egr delete

Did my egr delete from custom diesel last night and now can hear what I believe to be an exhaust leak and can smell exhaust under the hood. What could be leaking? Y pipe? Up pipe?

Most likely the y-pipe connection at the turbo, happens to everyone. Just need to loosen it all up and do it in the correct order. The clamp isn't going to pull the y-pipe and turbo together, it just can't do it. Here's a sure fire way for nailing this issue. Loosen the down-pipe connection on the turbo. Loosen the y-pipe connection on the turbo. Loosen the turbo mount bolts (no need to remove, just loose). Loosen the new solid up-pipe connection at the exhaust manifold on the passener side. Now, first connection to tighten is the y-pipe to the turbo, this is the most important one to do first. Make sure it's a good tight seal. Hold the turbo and the y-pipe together and tighten that clamp down good. Next, go down and tighten the up-pipe to the exhaust manifold, this connection the bolts will actually pull it together. Then tighten your down-pipe connection, THEN tighten the turbo mount bolts. Should fix it.:c:

ISounds good. Thanks for the help! Im not gonna have time to tear it back down and do that till saturday, do you think it will br okay till then?

Yeah it'll just have less boost, and you'll get an exhaust smell in the cab. I ran mine for about a month like that, between frustration and lack of time.

Seriously, once I did tackle it again... it was like a 30 minute fix job, it really wasn't bad at all.

Yeah I would have last night but it was 3 in the morning and I already had 7 and half hours into it and school at 6:30. But im still getting as much boost as before it just takes a few more seconds to spool

I hear that man, my first one took me over 12 hours, one of the most frustrating things I've had to do.
