go get some bigger exhaust.... get rid of the clunker for an air cleaner..(scrap it)... get a 14" k7n thats 6" high.... and switch to royal purple 15/40 synthetic... get ya some z-max and some lucas Full synthetic oil stabilizer.....I gained 1.3 mpg's just changin oil ... I run it 10,000 between changes... it willl go longer but thats about twice a year or so...
As for exhaust I'm running dynomax and its 4"... primarys are 2.5 into a 3 to a 3.5 to a 4" in to muffler..... WARNING... the k&n will make it loud in the cab... but it sounds great.... try some dyna-mat or something like that ... will help too.. I love the sound it makes....:scare2:... check out my pics... will add some soon ..... she's a beautiful truck... just need more lovin... |

if u go turbo make sure your heads are on good..... dont wanna go over about 6 psi... top's...... unless you want to be doing a search for your heads and pistons...:tttt:
|
I've pushed 17-18psi on 21 yr old gaskets and head bolts. Cruise at 6psi on freeway. 15 seems to be the red zone tho from what others say
|
12-15 psi max is what most say and follow. not sure where you got 6 from. the stock setups run 10 psi stock.

oh i keep being told 6 from international dealership.... must be a safty thing... I'm never 100% about that number... I'm sure on a hard pull 10 would be good.. but 17 seems kind high.... I havent had much opertunity to pull heads on these motors just been other external stuff..... I would think that 350-400 hp would be do-able.... I work on old detroit's and they have 400 or more... Bendagbullet..... check it out on youtube...:rocking:
