turning up ip
has anyone turned up there ip pump on a 7.3 na without a egt gauge i nw its 1 flat i dont have the 125.00 bucks right nw for the gauge an i realy want to turn it up does it realy get above 1300 deg just wondering
That is what I understand but other guys like diesel crawler and several others can tell you for sure.
just wondering if i turn it up 1 flat without egt will it get that hot on me to melt my motor
depends on what you do with it. does the truck tow a trailer? is it manual or automatic?
if it is automatic, and you never tow a trailer, then maybe you will be safe. but every motor is different. i dont turn anything up untill it has gauges on it. eGauges.com - VDO, Auto Meter, Defi, Isspro, Cyberdyne and Classic Instruments Gauges is the cheapest place i have found gauges at. |
its a stick an i dont pull a trailer yet i do alot of trveling for my job an its my only mod of transpertation
The responsible thing to do would be to wait until you can monitor the temps...
:humm:ya i nw that just seems weird to me that 1 flat on a n.a would make the egt run that high to hurt your motor or get it close to were you would have to shut your motor down running down the road i can see 2 or 3 flats i guess my other question is what does the temp run usaly an what it run with 1 flat i nw going above 1300 is bad.......just curious
cant really asnswer that. like i said, every motor is different, depending on age, injectors... ect. i have mine up 2 flats, but myu truck is also turboed. so big difference. but i can hit 1250 very quickly.
i got my truck turned up 2 flats with strait pipes no EGT and its fine but its a risk.. i also
have another motor for mine so im not worried :yeah: |
At one flat mine would hit 1300 very quickly, get a pyro.
