Exhaust... Single Stack

I'll post in here, but this is out here for anybody to add to.

I'm looking at a single stack, something like 4 or 5 inches. I don't care to do double.

Here's my concern: water. Should I worry about water intrusion, or rust? (I'm thinking long term here)

Second question: where the heck can I get a single stack in black without paying $400?! (Need reducer, flex pipe, mounting bracket, etc.)

make it yourself. mounts are easy, flex and the pipe can be bought from any truck shop. use high heat paint to make it black.

as for water, keep a coffey can in the truck. cover the stack when not in use.

I thought about making it myself, but truck shops are far and few between around here.

There's a local metal supply, but the only 5inch he carries is 4ID.

Clever idea with the coffee can, I'll remember that one!

silverline makes a sweet single stack kit. as for water, drill a hole at the lowest point in your exhaust (generally at the 90 going up thru the bed) doesnt have to be a large hole i would say nothing larger than a 1/4 inch. it will act as a weep hole and drain out any water that enters. no worrys about rust provided your truck is a daily drive and is stored in a garage. if you dont store it in a garage, i agree with the guy above, coffee can is cheap and it will keep your stack dry.

Yank one off an old semi, and buy some high temp flat black paint. You should be able to find everything else at auto stores.

you dont need to cover your stack.i hav dual 5inch stacks.the soot sucks the water up.and plus the water will hav to travel up alot of exhaust tubing to do anything.but if your still gona freak just drill a hole and weld a nut on above the hole and put a bolt in

oh and if you put a coffee can on ur stack your gona scratch it
