7.3 shut off problems
 

i have a 94 7.3 idi turbo . it idles great runs great , but when i hit the throttle and let up it dies. restarts immediately and idles fine . if i rev it up and release it it dies sometimes it doesnt but it still tries to dies as if fuel shut off solenoid is shutting off. even though i dont think it is .
the engine was pulled from another truck that did not do this prior to swap so it has me puzzled . original had rod go through oil pan at 589,000 miles

Sounds like a the valve in the Injector pump is stuck, pull the filter and fill it with seafoam then run it, should unstick it and cure the issue, can also use ATF :c:

thank you . i have not tried that yet but i prime my filters with atf .

good idea ... been doin that for years my self .... since my first detroit 8v92 build ...
