Their very easy to replace. Also a good time to do a fuel filter housing reseal. Fuse 30 is the fuel heater. The tcm isn't on it (at least I dont think it is)

My fuse box only goes to #22...it is the 7.3 idi turbo 1994

Ah ha lol I thought we were talking newer. Guess I didnt see which forum we were in lol. That ones easy to replace to! Lol

Well I got it... it wasn't even anything to do with the vss or the wire.... after reading other threads ...I found the fuel pre heater was on the same circuit. .. went out unplugged it and bam....all is good again. Thanks guys for he input. These forums are one of my best friends....greatly cause this is my first diesel ...there is so much knowledge and willingness to help. Thanks again

Not to jack your thread but my 94 idi turbo is having the exact same problem. where is the plug you unhooked? I keep blowing fuse #22

Well I went ahead and pulled the heater wire and magically I have all my trans and tach functions! Thank you jdsst1 for pointing that out it saved me a lot of time and money

wow... interesting... :tu:.. glad this all worked out well for everyone ... now .. does an 87 have a fuel preheater ??? gonna go look at my truck as well .... just cause...:bat:
