Hmmm, I was expecting somewhere in the 15s with this axle ratio... Now driving in local, I'm consistently in 11mpg. In any case, I love this truck.... Hopefully in a year or so I'll do the deletes and mod it a bit. I want to hang on to the warranty a bit to ensure that there are no bugs with it....
So the general consensus is doing the deletes won't cause any issues with the head gasket provided that you don't block the coolant line on the EGR cooler side! What is the most power/torque can these motors/tranny handle without upgrading the internals? |
As for you MPG's you'll probably see some increase as the motor breaks in. some mods you can do and will not void the warranty so I am told. cold air intake. free flowing exhaust. The easier it can breath in and blow out the better.

Get on the bitch, and hard, need to seat those rings well. Every vehicle ive been in that was broken in hard always has more power than those broken in softly.
|
Hehe... Most engine builders say the same thing about seating the rings. One of my friend did a full on burnout when he picked up his truck but I wasn't brave enough to get on the truck like that but I haven't even driven it since the first weekend I picked her up. She still has about 400 miles.
