Front Bumpers, Not Factory Ones
I am currently looking at purchasing a front bumper for my 05 3500. It has to have room for a 12,000lb warn, and not stick out a country mile from my grille. I currently have an Ali-Arc on now, its a nice bumper, but doesnt have winch capabilities.
My 96 had a Trail Ready bumper, which was a very well built bumper, had room for my winch, lots of lights, but is HEAVY as hell. I had some sort of homemade bumper on my 01 with room for my ramsey, but it had no protection. I am kinda leaning towards the ARB bumper, specially with the $1500 price tag, and with the Canadian dollar the way it is, I am in the market now. Here are some pics of what I had and have http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/3...ctures-039.jpghttp://www.supermotors.net/getfile/4...e/dscf2069.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/3...ctures-038.jpghttp://www.supermotors.net/getfile/5...e/p3070155.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/5...e/p3220173.jpghttp://www.supermotors.net/getfile/5...e/p3070157.jpg http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/5...e-pics-013.jpg |

what aftermarket bumper will work with a sport grill
|
I would look at the Road Armor and Alien Patrol bumpers. We carry the Alien Patrol. Much better priced, and designed and built by the founder of Road Armor. Last one I installed was for a second gen and it wieghed all of about 150 lbs (max) and had plenty of room for the winch.

The sport issue, that I know of on the second Gen Dodges is there is a lower lip on the bumper cover that makes it different from all the other trucks with the chrome bumper, and being that lip is part of the plastic cover, you cant remove it.

I dont really like the looks of the Ranchhand.
Ive looked at the Ranch hand, Trail Ready, Arb, alien, road armour, HERD, UTE, but they either dont have what I want, or are priced way too high. Hoping someone else had one, to know how it worked for them. Some hang too low, or are way too long. |
They are ALL expensive.....Road Armor and Buckstops are nice.
How about Fab Fours? http://www.fabfours.com/ |
Send a telegram to China and thank em for the high cost of steel when you get a chance. I priced out the steel in my Ranch hand some months back and taking into consideration that I have to buy everything in 20 lengths unless you get lucky and the yard has some cutoffs layin around, it's not much more to buy the bumper then it is to build it. The price of steel is insane and only gettin worse.
I wanna make me some new nerf bars, but I've been puttin it off cause i'm scared of what the material is gonna cost. I'm want to use 2" X 3" X 3/8" Box channel. I bought some of this a year ago for around $3 a ft. I know I'm gonna be over $5 per ft this time, just don't know how much over. |
Amen....
