Headliner Hints?
I need some hints on how to reattach the fabric to the foam-like stuff on the headliner. Mine is starting to sag/come off right at the front near the windshield. Especially bad on the passenger's side. I tried some fabric adhesive, but it didn't hold. Any ideas?

Fabric adhesive?
Never used it myself but have you tried 3M spray on glue? |
here's what ur gonna probably find out. i did. the headlining material isn't coming off so much as the backing material is degrading. that's what mine is doing. i've attempted several reglues and it's alosing battle. the backing material is simply falling apart and nothing can stick to it.

So...is it a lost cause, Chimpo? Did you do anything to yours?
Dr...i think the spray I used was a 3M product. It is a spray adhesive we sell to upholstery shops that use it to adhere fabric to backing materials. I really thought it would work, but as Chimpo said, if the backing material is degrading, I may have a real hard time finding something to work. Anybody else have a ideas. |
yah do what i did. give up.
go to your local mopar dealer or parts department. hand over 90 dollars and in 2-3 days you have a brand new headliner, clips and backing. |

shouldnt have to ..
take it to a local upholstry shop and see if they have magic in a can (real product) its commercial use only so you wont be able to find it. or see if they can fix it.. upholstry shops arent as expesive as you think. i had my leater seat in my ram complely redone, refoamed and a entire new leather panel for less than 200.
