block heater
i noticed my block heater is in my water in the side of my block. what im wondering is what is the temperature of that thing when it is plugged in? the reason im asking is because i have no anti-freexe just water trying to scrub my block of all the oil form that last incident with the headgasket. it got down to 18* last night and it didnt freeze anything put i had it plugged in. tonight it is supposed to get down to 5* and it is plugged in.:ouch:
probably around 100*-115*, my brother had his plugged in and when he started it on his attitude monitor it said his water temp was 112* so i imagine it would be right around there:humm:
what would the water temp be in the head anythig close to that?
Im not sure but as long as it stays above 32* then it should be fine:humm:
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- hey man i just plugged one in here at work that we had taken out of a truck and it was climbing over 700* when i unplugged it, so they get really f-in hot:choochoo: ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- oh and that was only having it plugged in for about 20 seconds |
Id be thinking about dumping that water pretty soon...
Mine doesnt get anywhere near that hot. |
you have to remember this was just out in the air and not in the block with water to keep it kind of cool, but just to note that it CAN get that hot
I didnt catch that....
:c:
well so far so good it started this morning and ran fine droped it off at a local radiator shop and there flushing the entire system and doing a 50/50 mix of anti-freeze
sounds good
