ive pushed snow my whole life. me and my father have a bunch of driveways and 2 parking lots we plow i run my truck and he runs his 2004 f-550

picked this up about a month ago. :tu: only gotta chance to use it once so far. im set up as a sub contractor for a guy in indianapolis that has all the post office outlets and SEVERAL other smaller contracts head start schools, churches, couple of strip malls etc. ran for 8 hours my first time an the dodge loved it. now im just itchin for more snow.:choochoo: i really wanted a v blade but i got to thinkin as im gettin payed hourly the kind of blade im usin dont matter as long as its pushin... :c:

8'6" fisher V-plow here, minute mount 2, absolutely love it, love the scoop position for cleaning up and even when im running straight i keep it curved in a little bit keeps te snow in better, love how i can move each wing individually, and the V position is great when there is deep snow you can just plow through the middle of the driveway / parking lot like those trains, pushing the snow off to each side. then just back out and start pushing to either side. it comes on and off very easy too, takes literally a minute to mount and 30 seconds to take off. I re-adjusted it this year for angle / pitch to match my ballasts and truck height and wow it scrapes the snow so much better than the last couple years.

had a pretty good season. all in all. have a hiniker poly vee in the garage i bought a few weeks back im gonna switch the straight blade out for. cant wait till this winter. happy stackin! :c:

Looking for recommendations for a plow...
 

:hellox: So I got my first diesel (99 Chevy K3500 Base 6.5L turbo crew cab) and living in Alaska, I thought that a plow would be a nice way to make some winter money.

So many stories out there on which plow to get. I hear from "meyer" guys that "boss" blades suck and that a "V" blade is the only way to go etc...

Any of you experienced plow guys have any recommendations or suggestions for a good blade for my truck? Any place I can go for real comparisons on blades?:humm:

I have been a substitute plow driver for my friend for the last three years using his F150 with a home-made blade and harness (he's a metal fabrication specialist by trade). I want a good blade and the works. One that is not gonna kill me with down time.:nope:

Any help and/or advise would be appreciated!

Oh yeah, we don't drop the blade on a residential driveway for less than $50 and we are dirt cheap compared to others in our area!!:tu:

The Crew Cab hurts because of it's length, but having said that, I have two old Fishers the only problems they have had (aside from weight) were caused by an idiot with a cutting tourch. Still have a Curtis, it's going for scrapmetal, hydraulic system failed 3 times in two years, mount system had to be gone through every 2-3 days or it would fall off the damn truck, overall a pos. Never owned a Boss but I have used a couple of the outdated V-blades that they used to have, and I loved them. Quick acting and no mess ups, but they were brand new at the time. I haven't played with a western enough to comment...

So to sum it up;
Curtis--Junk but cheap.:ouch:
Fisher--Good, I have two that were made in the late 70's and haven't failed.
Boss--Good, but expensive, no comment on long term cost.
Western--I have friends that like them, but hate the pump setup (mid 90's models)
Meyer--I haven't tried but I've herd good about them.
