I am waiting on respones from a few other companies. The event is a fund raiser for Families of Fallen Soldiers in conjunction with the Purple Heart Association. Our event last year will be in April's Issue of Diesel Power. The event is called:

10,000 lbft of Torque in the Southwest

Last year we had 30 trucks show, we rolled 26 on the dyno and had a monster truck, BBQ, give a ways, door prizes, class trophies ect.... It was a great time and a great cause. We raise money to help offset travel and lodging expenses of the families that have lost a Hero. Anything you can donate for the event would be greatly appreciated.

This year, we have Ford, Chevy and Dodge dealers attending the event and are going to place new trucks on the rollers. We are going to have a traveling trophy for the dealers and they are helping us with TV promotions.

Keep an eye open for the event and would love to see as many of you guys/gals that can show!

UPDATE: We are looking at having a videographer school come to film the event. They get to have a class project and we get copies of the event on disc!

I wish we had something like this in our area. I am currently in Afghanistan and just 4 days ago I lost a good friend and families lost there loved ones. I love this kind of thing a very noble and kind thing to do. I wish you all luck.

Albuquerque, New Mexico, May 16, 2009- High Desert Ravelco presents the 2nd Annual 10,000 lb. ft. of Torque in the Southwest. This event is hosted by Flash Automotive on May 16th in Albuquerque New Mexico. We are raising money for Families of Fallen Soldiers in conjunction with the Purple Heart Association. All proceeds are donated to the Purple Heart Association to aide families for travel and lodging expenses traveling to Albuquerque to receive their memorial of a Fallen Hero who served in the United States Military in the Middle East, including Iraq and Afghanistan.

This event is a time for diesel the enthusiast to place their truck on a chassis dyno to measure horsepower and torque, have some bragging rights, and most importantly is to raise money for families of fallen soldiers. Just got back from a meeting and Don Chalmers Ford to talk to the entire service and body shop guys about the event. there was a guy there smiling and said he would bring his relative that has some sort of a big hp ford truck. I am hoping to see some big HP #'s so lets kick their tails!

This thing is gettin big! North Texas is gatherin up a group and my doors are open, just bring a sleepin bag and find a space!

lazarsmith out of texas is bringing a grip of goodies, trailering a truck and dragin a grip of his clan! i am gettin x cited!

There will be a pre event party/BBQ in the RV parking area next to the event. I am in the process of fabbing up a 21"x48" griddle that slides into the receiver hitch of my truck so we can burn some meat. I am sure we can gather some funds and hit the local store for something to cook and drink. CD in NM came up today and we walked the lots and we are assembling a map for the layout of vendors and contestants. Will post the map when it is finalized.

I think I'm in also Bill :rocking: Just let me know when your going to head out of town and I'll cruise with you. I may not crash overnight but just let me know what your plans are. Not sure about your neck of the woods, but its quickest for me to run I-17 up to I-40, if thats the way your going to go, its time for a bombvoy :choochoo:

Well I may not be able to make it... just picked up another toy :rock: '78 Centurion 19ft. jet boat. EXTREMELY rare hull, from what I have been told by many people they made very few of these, but have yet to find the actual number. Regardless rare or not, its sweet looking. Bought it from my best friend. Gotta get a big block Chevy together for it. I have another hull I'd like to stick a Cummins in :choochoo:
