I do but building 2 fummins at the same time is expensive having to stop on the 89 for a while

EasternAggie 01-30-2012 03:09 PM

Wish I had more money to invest in my one Fummins.... dang college :dang:

Nice looking swap bud:tu:
how well do the electric fans keep up with cooling your setup? Im on the fence of would i rather cut 1" into the firewall or ditch the mech fan. I have a complete 24v ISB/nv4500 ready to swap into a 97 CCLB F350 i just picked up and am worried about the electric fans keeping up with keeping things cool.

you don't have to hack the firewall at all with the right mounts just a little dent to remove the rear valve cover.

Thats for sure. I graduate with my bachelors this may, and then start graduate school working on my masters this fall. But hopefully I get on at this roughneckin job this summer to make some bucks inbetween :choochoo:

What problems did you have with the FC mounts?

I thought you did if you want to keep the mech fan? the impression i was getting is it doesnt need to go by much, just make 3/4" more room to work. i guess the hammer will get the first try before the saw ha.

Took a shop hammer to my back firewall. I'm running a mechanical fan, and I have changed both valve springs and head bolts. The only thing that required modification was that we had to drill holes in the firewall to get the pushrods out on the back cylinder when we took off the head. But other than that, no problems.

the easyest way to pull a head in these trucks i found instead of drilling holes is to pull the 6 intake and exhuast push tube, last head stud and towin in one shot by zip tieing them together worked great when i pulled my head 2 weeks ago

my problem that i had was the fan hit the tach sensor and it was 1/4 of a inch from the radiator contact

i am running a 38gallon rear (gas tank) and i didnt wantto mod the pick-up so i welded a 1/2npt bung in the bottom of the tank and i have a y-strainer and ball valve mounted on the tank

not enoughsmoke 05-28-2012 08:22 AM
