what is the best way to handle this oil tube:rocking:
I have hook the breather from the valve cover to my intake pipe but not sure what would be the best way to handle this tube VetteAttachment 20140 |
Are you referring to the metal tube that runs from the turbo around the back of the motor? If so, I understood that to be the required oil supply to the turbo.
|
No this line ran from the airfilter to the oil pan in the MB
|
It is the oil return drain from the valve cover breather. It is there to recapture oil from excessive blow-by, the pressure was vented to the air cleaner, then the oil drains back to the pan.
|
If I run a line from the valve cover breather to my air intake on my turbo would there be to much oil going into the turbo and them just cap that return line.

As long as you don't have too much blow-by. My 85 cali motor didn't have the drain tube, it used a different air cleaner and basically ran the breather tube to the top of the air cleaner.

Would the worst time it would do is just burn the oil from the blow by?

take a piece of 1.250 black pipe nipple 4" long put a cap on 1 end drill a bunch of .250 holes in stuff it full of steel wool and on the bottom make a fitting that will fit into the return and on the side weld in a fitting that will adapt to the blow by tube should work
then it will drain back into pan |
