Avalalanche Cummins? or LS1 Swap?

i am looking to buy a 01-05 avalanche with a blown motor and i was thinking either LS1 swap with performance, a 12 valve with 200,000 or so miles.. just wondering if someone with experience can say what is easier..

i would think the ls1 would be easier

The LS1 would be much easier. Its the type of engine that the truck is made for, a SB gas V8. It would just be a "swap", while a Cummins would be more of a "conversion".

Now as to which one would be cooler, the Cummins of course :c:
