got lots of work lined up on the truck, but still no tipper ram, still no stainless bends for the cold side-it,s just time i guess,im just not paying the prices these dreamers think stuff is worth, good news is the fat wheels arrive next few weeks-searching for cheap 12.50x20,s if you see any around. chopped the handbrake to clear the gear shift-weld this up tomorrow- was at the hot rod super nationals and saw this beautiful coronet-my favourite mopar muscle car, while walking round in a mopar haze i spotted some dodge rear lights-three lenses and two lights complete-been looking all over for these-guy took like 10 bucks off me-well happy-another part i dont need to make/find-GREAT! will be back in a while with a load of photos when i get some more progress... |

welcome back mate-hope the vacation was good.the super nationals were busy lots of primo mopars-nothing like as big as the show in the us,but some top shelf cars-here,s one of ours-next frame below
got a load of parts arriving for the DODGEYMOG-nothing bar the wheels are bolt on -still months of fab work yet,but i love it- at last i got my ram and made the bottom pivot mounts. line bored these on lathe to accept 1-00" hardened pins. ram will have to be mounted 2-00" off centre-i hope this wont cause me problems??.it will never be used to tip much weight. cut out the cross members and some gusseting for the tipper frame, hope to do the welding tomorrow-i will not miss tripping over this hunk of steel contraptioning-which has slowly got heavier and more annying as time goes on. got some more bracing to cut for the tipper frame and desighn the rear bed landing posts, including some urethane pads to keep it quiet.once i get this mess layed up and working right,it,s paint and the rear bed can go on.then i,ll have somewhere to throw all the parts of this truck that i have been climbing over and endlessly moving around my tiny workshop- i am collecting my 12.50 x 20 flavoured wheels next week-this has been a year and a half mission, also i have cut a nice deal with a local guy [ who has supplied me with used military tyres for decades ]- for five used michelin XZL,s-but no rush for these.so i can direct money at the other end of the truck. this winter i plan on stripping each wheel station in turn and getting everything right.more pictures soon. cheers. |

It looks like you are making some good progress on the truck now. :c:
That car is BADA$$ :yourock: Looks like it's right out of a MAD MAX movie. I love the way you blacked out the engine parts. How and where did you hide the radiator, or is this only a strip car? I need to see more pictures of that ride inside and out. Did you shoot any youtube videos of it? ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- I just found another picture of this car when you had dual four barrels and a tunnel ram setup. That's a 36 Chevy Aerosedan? |

busy few days-
layed up the ram and settled on a position to mount it ,subject to a dry run under power. roughed out the top mounts for the ram and finnish bored to size for the hardened steel pins. measured a lot and drew up up a cutting list for the bottom braces to give the tipper frame some torsional rigidity. my favourite tee shirt-it has upset a lot of self rightous a-holes:c: did a lot of TIG welding ,there must be over 300 seams in this frame alone-it,s all good practice-im getting there. |
