all the stuff that came out is still just sitting in my shop getting in the way. i don't have anything to put it in yet so i guess it is for sale.

yeah i did a 8 lug conversion on the front, it isnt a 60 but it will do for now, it does have bigger bearings and the brakes are quite a bit bigger.
i put a 10.25 sterling in the rear too.

DieselCrawler 04-01-2010 03:04 PM

yea, i like my sterling better then the dana 60. stupid inboard drums.

just a quick update, i will try and get some pics up soon, but i got my exhaust done, 4 inch with a magnaflow flow through muffler, looks good and should work great!
the front clip is back on, it looks like a complete truck again!
got my throttle pedal in and cable run
started the fuel lines 3/8 feed and 1/4 inch return, my tank should be here tommorow so i can finish it off
started wiring, got my sending unit adaptors so the factory dash guages will work.
my starter, turns out i need a spacer which i didn't have so i had to order one from fordcummins.com, hopefully it won't take too long to get here, but you never know when it has to get through customs!!
looks like i will be able to use my NP205 transfercase shifter linkage, just need to shorten it up about 3 inches. it will move the shifter location but i can deal with that.
shocks are all mounted, need to figure out my driveshafts and get the rad inlet and outlet swapped side to side.
just have all the little time consuming crap to take care of now.

What throttle cable did you use? I had a 460 in my F350, and am "planning" on using the original cable, and just move the (1990) Cummins throttle cable mount back about 1 1/2", and extend the rod the same amount. That looks like the easy route without buying a new cable.

my throttle is kind of a frankenstein, i used a dodge pedal, with mid 80s chev cable and custom brackets on the engine.

my bronco had mechanical linkage, a pivot and rod set up, which hit the back of the engine, so i had to make everything. the cummins i got from a buddy who had it in his chevy, which is why i ended up using the chevy cable, because it was kind of set up for it already.

well atleast the fuel milage should be better how the 460 run when on propane better than gas?

cummins bronco 04-21-2010 04:04 PM

propane is a pretty popular conversion up here, i call it a poor mans fuel injection.
it runs good and is quite a bit cheaper than gas.

as for a quick update, i picked up my new wheels and tires today, went with 16x10 ion alloy wheels and Toyo open country MTs 315/75/16.

i also got the rad in and the intercooler on, i used a superduty intercooler, installed the grill and got the fuel system done and the rear brakes finished.
just need to get my lower rad hose figured out so i can make up the intercooler plumbing and finish up my intake, and then i can fire it!!:jump:

i will get some pics when i get a chance.

ITS ALIVE!!!

:jump::jump::jump::jump:

finally got it flashed up today.
intercooler tubes and intake finished.
brakes all done and bled
hydralic clutch works great.
electric fan and alternator and regulator wired up.
it is ready to go!!
just need to do a final once over and make sure i didn`t leave any loose bolts.
