You just need to move to the great Pacific Northwet. (the S was deliberately left out) (hehe)

As an update. My church's Thanksgiving baskets will be filled Saturday evening so I am available all day Sunday. Although it is probably too short of notice to plan anything.

Sorry guys, I got wrapped up with work and family over the the holidays. If you are all down, lets try and meet up after the new year.

I got some progress done on my truck too so there will be something to actually look at and talk about haha. I got the stock motor and trans out this weekend and I got the motor mounts done and am working on finishing up the oil pan this week.

Sounds good, glad to see you're back at it. Looking forward to seeing your truck!

I also am still interested. Just as a reminder, I'm usually available any day of the week except for Saturdays. Looking forward to hearing back about this.

Thought I would share a few updated pictures...

I wanted to keep the stock trans location so bolted the engine and trans up and then mounted the trans in the stock location and built my motor mounts. I will have to modify the upper control arm mount a little bit (to clear the oil filter boss) but other then that it fits great.

Passenger side mount

Driver side mount

I had to relocate the oil filter because of the tight fit with the control arm and am going to mount it down on the frame rail.

Also started the oil pan. Still need to add the drain plug and 2 ports for the oil return off the turbo and alternator/vacuum pump. its kind of hard to see in the pic but the driver side of the pan is about an inch lower then the passenger side to clear the vent tube off the top of the diff. I also need to modify the oil pickup tube for the new pan.

looks good, kind of hard to tell from your picture. Also not sure if you wanted a shorty fitler, but did you try and take off the oil filter intermediate housing and just run the filter from the front housing straight out , I did not think mine would fit that way, but there is a shorty filter that did the trick for me, and I think there is even one more filter shorter than the one I am running especially if you get the smaller filter center boss adapter as some others have.

You can also re-clock the stock filter housing.

flyinmonkeys32 01-04-2015 11:23 PM

I was actually thinking of clocking it too but need to check it when I put the motor back in. Do you by chance know what the threads are in the block where that stub pipe sticks out for that intermediate 90 degree adapter?

dieselxj 01-04-2015 11:47 PM

I don't think it is really the actual block, I think it is the front case. Are you talking about the filter center? or the 4 little bolts that hold the intermediate housing on? For the center part, I am pretty sure it is the same as the big OE Kubota filter. I just took off my intermediate housing and put the OE Kubota filter on until I found the shorty filter with the same thread as the Kubota

Ill have to take a pic of it tomorrow. It sticks into that intermediate piece
