Tps, used 5v reference from pcm, tv cable, output speed sensor, neutral drive reverse position switch, i think your brake cable is brown, the wire for the brake switch in my 96 tcu is white and pink, i just wired it to ground, the wiring diagram for your cherokee is confusing but in your case check if the brake signal is working

Hey thanks for the info! That diagram should help. Maybe I just need to completely separate the TCU from the ECU. I'm assuming yours is not linked to the Cherokee's ECU? Are you using it at all for gauges etc?

I am using the 5v reference for the tps and its ground from the pcm, the tcm i have doesn't have the reference voltage, yes im using the computer for the gauges, i think i have a bad crank sensor cause i have no signal or rpm detected by the pcm and the tach doesn work

Ok, thanks. I'm getting a false tach reading, it's @ 500rpm fast so I think that may be giving my tcu something it doesn't like and keeping it from lock-up. I think I need to separate any feedback between the two.

the tps needs on idle between .40 volts and.70 volts, if notthe tcu will think it has a bad tps and it will ignore it, shifting in specific speeds rather than calculating it, no lockup also

Thanks! That's most likely what my issue is.

I downloaded the catalog to find them, they are very good quality bolts

Having fun

I was riding the wj for a few days, tinkering here and there, the ac began to slowly loose performance, but the pressures where ok, i keep looking for clues but day after day it was getting worse, i ordered a orifice pipe and a accumulator to flush the whole system but when disassembling i found out the cause, mud wasp!! They build inside the orifice pipe clogging it with mud!!! I don't know how it worked this long but now i can be insured that with a flush and new oil my system will be happy, plus im working on a very persuasive death wobble

Hey, just wanted to thank you for all you're help with the AW4 trans! Yes it was the TPS, in fact it is ALL about the TPS. Very minor adjustments change how it acts. Loving how this trans is with the diesel, will be DD it soon, thanks again.

Glad it worked for you, that tps can set the shift points and the kickdown cable how hard it shifts, that transmission is good man

Update

It has been a while since i posted the build, I used it a lot but around 6 months ago i was coming from Lakeland at 90 mph and one piston didn't resist so now it has a dead miss, hopefully I can get it running again with this virus and how busy i am don't know when
