auto to manuel cummins
I am doing a 5.9 with 5 speed in my 97 f350 7.3 auto. I bought a cummins 1989 with 80k miles for 1500$. I took off the torque converter cuz im doing a 5 speed, I was wondering are the end of the crank shafts the same auto and Manuel on cummins, I don't see where the pilot bushing could go in the crank?
The crank shaft is the same. Pilot bearing goes in the flywheel. Manuel is my cousins name, your transmission is manual.
Haha blame it on my smart phone, its slower then a streak of sh*t, but for the top end, I took off head and the head gasket was smoked, do I need to be worried about getting the head shaved since ir isn't aluminum
Put a strait edge on it if you have the head off find out now
Put some 60lb valve springs in her too ( at least on the exhaust side) in case you ever put an exhaust brake on. They're cheap, $55
I would probably be better off buying all them since im running 3200 spring don't ya think
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- An if I have higher rpm and stronger valve springs shoildbi do arp. Push rods? |

Yeah its been a pretty big job. right now im in the process of putting in the nv4500. so far its been pretty difficult. Might need to do some floor modifications so i can get the dang thing up high enough to get it to the back of the engine without hitting the bottom of the truck. what tranny are u gonna put in?
From e4od to nv4500 I was hoping I didn't have to beat in floor ill probably machine some aluminum body pucks but im only 20 with a budget haha got any pictures you can email me so far
