I'm no tranny guru, but I'm pretty sure at the least the entire trans needs to be torn apart, I think the snap ring was in the back of the trans behind almost everything. Chances are if it's broke/cracked stuff has been slipping for a while, so it's possible. A rebuild would fix it, not like you need an entire transmission. Plus at the mileage you're at, and if it's a work truck, it's not like it would hurt to just rebuild it while it's out.

Where are you located? I think you should take a few minutes and give Doug from GoGo a call. He will forget more about 6.0's than most will ever know, and he knows the 5R110's pretty damn well.

Really depends what you go with kellie.

Knowing where you're at helps too, I can put you in contact with a couple 6.0 gurus out that way. Usually when people end up calling Doug though, they're strapping their trans to a pallet and sending it to Florida that week.

Try these guys, there a little North of you looking at google maps, but they know 6.0's very well. Matt is the guys name, and his girlfriend/wife (not sure) Mikaela run the shop. Matt races a 6.0 competitively. If they can't help you out (distance wise) I'm sure they can put you in contact with someone that can too. I'll PM you their info.
