dodge start trouble

got typical setup on 02 dodge 24 valve, new inj. pump, fass 95 lift, sits overnight no trouble start in morning, however after all day at work hard starts . losing pressure ?,my wait to start light takes a few secs in morn when it fires nice takes 1-2 secs then clears when it wont want to start any thoghts?

Turn the key on, bump the starter but do not start, and listen for the pump to run. Once it is done running, try starting about 5 seconds after that. If you have fuel draining back that should fix it.

thx what would cause the leak back i checked all check valves replaced fuel lines, not sure if wait to start intake heater is playing into this cause when it runs for a couple secs she fires like new ,however when it lights up and is gone ,she wont start until shes good and ready, never left me but up to 4 mins of cranking not at once .

return bolt in the back of the head possibly?.....if it sits all night tho it will fire right up?

ruffneck 10-10-2010 11:33 AM

yeah after sitting at night starts up great, just all morning and afternoon at daytime it craps out pressure drops.after it fires she can shutoff and start no worries..cant figure out where pressure losing at,no dust built up after inj .pump to inj so its a bit of a mys..:s:

cummin_un_glued 10-10-2010 05:24 PM

ok then it dosnt sound like your loosing pressure to me...cause if that was the case it wouldnt start of the morning because it would have bled down over night...just for tits and wiggles when it wont start try turning the key on then gettin out and unpluggin the fass relay then get back in and turn the key off then try to start it....if it starts fine then it sounds like your getting too much pressure to the pump putting it in a hard start mode

You need a fuel pressure guage. Low pressure lights are junk (at best).

Have you checked for codes?

ruffneck 10-10-2010 06:47 PM

havent been able get my code reader back in a week, over fuelin pressure i was told to just start up without waitin for for wts light, however that also never seemed to get any better results, while ago it had showed po216 but i have put on inj and lift pump even before i had never had hard starts with failing inj pump only lack of power and really black smoke at start up, i really appreciate all the help and advice...:c:

im waitin to order up a edge juice with attitude with gauges, fuel press ,etc if it is overfuelin at start up will increasing hphelp that situation or will i still have hard starts ?

Dr. Evil 10-10-2010 06:47 PM

Cant really do much except check fuel pressure and check for codes. Good luck.

Hard starts when warm usually mean that you need a new injector pump.

ruffneck 10-10-2010 06:53 PM

since i put on new injector pump it started and once it has ran a while it fires no problem thats why i thought losing pressure are ther any other ways to check preesure leak off no tell tales i could find thx
