There really isn't a way to check it. For the price of one, just change it. Might fix ya right up.:tu:

whats the chance injection pump not rebuilt right?,i get lots of fuel pressure with the lift pump all the power in the world when running, just dont want to fire up after sitting for 8 hours during daytime, and will smoke even after cranking on it for three minutes:s:

I know you said the fuel pressure is holding. But what is the fuel pressure, and what is it driving down the road also. light, mid, & wot.

i have met a couple guys who have the luck of not replacing lift and injection but they seem far and few between

like cummins unglued said it might be to much pressure causing this. i have seen this before on certain vp pumps. the fix for this is not to have lift pump pumping when cranking starter. when the truck starts and you release the key the lift pump starts pumping. i have tied into a power window wire to do this.

ruffneck 10-10-2010 08:12 PM

i have heard of doing this only concern i had thought at minus 40 are you able to deliver right amount of fuel or will it starve inj pump:humm:

cummin_un_glued 10-10-2010 08:14 PM

yeah pap i've heard of a couple guys putting a toggle switch on theres but a guy could forget to turn the switch back on...good idea on the power window wire i never thought about that....the one's that i have ran across have all been Airtex pumps from oreillys we are having alot of trouble out of them....a couple a week....been replacing them with the factory style carter pumps and fixing the problem

ruffneck 10-10-2010 08:38 PM

is there any upgrade to the injection pump diapram or other ways to this,or is it simply kill pressure on start,
