Redline Issues

Ok so ive been having some issues with my second hand reline chip not working properly and giving me random cases of dead pedeal. well i sent it back to blue chip got everything refreshed and fixed on it so the box is ruled out of the equation. I get the box back connect everything and make shure all the coneections are good (soldered to the original wire then a male/female connection to the box) and use alot of elctrical tape. turn on the truck and everthing is going good rev it up and all of a sudden the tac reading is going all over the place (i dont think 9800 rpm is possible)some times its not even a number..... well i take it out and take it for a test drive everything is going good them wham engine is dead... #@$%! i tryed restart it nothing it acts like it getting no fuel, turn the key off then back on and wow first crank no problem, went back to the house confused and angry with the rpm acting haywire agin, any ideas?

Any Issues W/o the Box?

Uncle Bubba 09-19-2007 09:21 PM

Sounds like you need to do the full blown APPS Reset on it. I bet when you check the voltage it is way off the mark.

with the box off the truck is perfect, apps is .4 to 3.6 volts

How does this relate to the tag on the bottom of the sensor that says what it's supposed to read. Every truck is different so you have to see what your is supposed to be.

hmm ill have to find the tag and look but that sounds about average.

The direction for doing this are listed on a thread here and it's pretty quick and simple to do. Mine was quite a ways off when I did it. I was also gettin the occasional dead pedal and seemed low on power. Did this adjustment and dropped the EGT numbers some and haven't had the dead pedal since.

well if im having low power issues, muhahahahaha and lower egts will be nice but unlikely and where exactly is the tag?
