2nd Gen Down
So I am postin for my buddy Bullrider 96 cuz he says the internet no work in Mexico. Anyway he's got a 96 2nd gen and says its hard to start and will only rev to 2000 rpms. I told him it sounds like the lift pump but figured I'd ask you fellars for him too. He said it will start just not easy and doesn't run good at all. Any ideas are appreciated. :c:

he's actually in mexico what about fuel filter and like you said lift pump fuel filter first and maybe while he's down there a little fuel additive :humm:

Is it posible for you to post more info about his truck....what are we working with here...symptoms are one thing but we need more about the truck...
any guages..big one being FP..if so whats it showing when truck is cranked and once its running. how long ago did the filter (fuel) get changed did he get bad fuel... how old is the lift pump... is it the stock lift pump or aftermarket... could air be introduced from somewhere...fuel line crack or maybe fuel filter... hows the voltage to the lift pump... is the truck BOMBED???? different injectors/injectors fouled... just need more to go on....the question is straight forward but the answer could be hard or easy depending on some background info. You've got air getting in somewhere homes. Check your fuel hoses coming from the tank and see if they are cracked.

The lines dry rot from the inside. They develop very small holes that let air in but dont let fuel out. Check the easiest and obvious areas first....connection at tank, then follow it up to the lift pump and check the inlet side of line connection, then check the oulet side of the lift pump...follow that to the fuel filter housing....check the inlet and outlet sides and the housing itself check the lid if it backed off....check the injection pump inlet from the fuel filter....lastly feel out the lines themselves. check for flat spots, chaffed areas, pinches, bends, feel for cracks (splintered areas) mushy areas...etc. NCA |
if all your hoses are old change them all so the whole problem is solved :yeah:
