Sounds like the pump is gone. Going to have to have it rebuilt by a diesel shop.

I've got a number for a bosch guy that the guy at the cummins dealer hooked me up with if your interested. Where are you located, I think hes around Tulsa, Ok. The guy at cummins said he was really good

Oh and BTW, the fuel shutoff solenoid is located in the back of the injection pump kind of under the AFC. Definitely check that out first, it will let fuel go to the injectors but not enough to pop them if its not working correctly. Just went htough that on mine

Jason im in R.I . Thanks for the pic. Question is there 2 wires that go 2 the fuel shutoff solenoid i only see one on yours

jasonfriedlin 12-14-2009 09:23 PM

Negative, just one. IDK why there is two prongs but its just one wire. Its hot when the key is on and it grounds through the metal on the IP. Check it with a multimeter if you have one available for voltage, should be 12 goin to it with the key on and then flip the meter over to ohms and put one lead on the tab for the wire and the other to ground and see what you've got. If it reads 0.L then it the electrical part is bad. If it comes up with a number other than that it should be fine electrically as long as its got voltage goin to it. The plunger may be sticking inside of it too causing it not too open. What I did was pull mine out cuz the new one is $75 and take the plunger and spring out of it, put it back in and hopefully it'll run.

Mine had what looked like good fuel pressure going to the injectors when you cracked the lines loose but it still wouldnt run. Thats what I did and now it runs good and hopefully when they get the tranny back in tomorrow (unrelated incident) it will move again. Hope you get it fixed, if that doesnt work we'll go from there :c:

Ours had the plunger sticking problem and it turned out to be trash from the IP going bad that jammed it.
