I had the same thing on my 99 , I just got done installing a fass system and eliminated the factory filter and lift pump. I found a sale on the fass 95 at www.Scheiddiesel.com I got the system for $535, It took me half a day to install.

Well now I thought mine was leaking too, but found out the expensive way that it was the #5 injector line. LOL, finally found out when I broke down in Ogalalla, Nebraska and had to get towed in. NOT a cheap tow bill when you're pullin a trailer and grossin 20K

Thanks for your input! You guys rock!

I have looked extensively and cannot find anyone that sells the grommets, they only sell the entire canister assembly.

Dr. Evil, the wires that run the prefilter heater enter the canister right smack on top of the assembly. I don't use the heater, I unplugged it years ago as it was causing a short in my electrical system.

Jeepdude, for as much as I don't want to spend half a day farting around with this thing, it looks like your suggestion may be the best bet.

I tried JB weld, but it just pops off when I fire up the truck.

The dealer suggested silicon. I bet that would last long.

What all's involved with that install? I mean I'm sure the majority of your time is spent droping the tank for the draw straw, but what else is there to it?

When you get the fass system there will be instructions, I mounted mine right next to the gas tank on the outer fram rail. I didn't have to drop the gas tank. It comes with everything you need exept cable ties to tie the hose and wiring into place.

I think I know where I can score some cable ties!

Thanks jeepdude!

Do you have to replace the lift pump? That may be beyond my pay grade as a diesel mechanic.
