You apparently haven't ever honed the cylinders on a 3208. Anyone who has, knows that the cylinders are so hard that it takes a complete day to accomplish the task. 1/2 day for one side and and 1/2 day for the other. If a person does kill a 3208, it is more than likely due to either extremely poor maintenance or lugging the poor critter for extended periods of time. (Which will eventually stretch the crankshaft main bearing saddles.) No, they do not have replaceable cylinders but everything is hell bent for stout.

This was a problem we ran into some years ago on a Ford L series, the plunger was stuck shut. Of course, being in a standard shift truck that was on it's last legs all around, we just removed the plunger, because we could shut it down with the brakes and clutch. That would be the first place I'd look too.
