Since everyone else wants to get side tracked or answer 'I don't know, but here is a guess', let me help you out a bit.

I notices you have a lift at big tires, that's what is making your ps system work overtime, esspecially since the ps pump also controls the brakes too. How to fix this? You can do a few things: If you are dead stopped and need to turn the wheels, let off of the brakes a little and turn the wheel or put it in nutral, let off the brakes and turn the wheel. It kind of helps send the pressure to the other system to make it work better.

or, you can invest in a hydro-assist steering system. You simply add a hydrolic ram to work off your steering gear box. Here's what they look like: IFS Suspension Ram Assist - Off Road Unlimited This is high $$$ and only an example of what is needed. It can be made for a fraction of the cost. I did mine on my Jeep for roughly $150. All you need is a ram, hoses, connectors and know where to tap your gearbox and mod the ps pump (research interwebby). You can replace your steering stablizer with the ram with little or no mods. It wouldn't be all that hard overall. I just don't know many that have done this on our trucks though. I was going to do this to mine a while back, after I added it to my Jeep, but I just didn't and then went with smaller wheels/tire, so mine isn't that bad at all anymore.

I believe u have the same problem i had. One of my steering hoses had a tear in it so, being the brakes and steering are on the same lines i lost brakes and ended up having to put my feet on the door just so i could turn an inch. After unnecessarily replacing power steering pump and hose, we jacked up the front refilled the canister with fluid and turned left and right [bout 40 x] to bleed the system. Since then it's an effortless turn even with the heavy tires. Try refilling your fluids and bleed the lines see how that goes:c: oh and i took my power steering assist off it's easy to turn without it...just a tought

PaleHRose, i got sidetracked by your avitar and forgot the question :s: :s: :rocking:

Uhhhmmm... oh, yeah, the brakes and steering question... This is probably the dumbest thing anyones ever responded with, but i assume you checked fluids, seal, and for leaks??? Those things might magnify the problem when under a load... Just somewhere to start... good luck

Hahaha!:c:. What i was trying to explain to mike was that it could have caught some air in the lines and therefore it will get harder to steer and probably makes weird noises?..:c:

thanks for the help guys.the system does technically work fine no leaks or funny noises.i realize its because i have 37"x15.5" tires. therefore my question was mainly about an aftermarket upgrade that would improve/replace the stock system.it would be most usefull if u could stand on the brakes and crank the tires standing still for offroading,parking,etc.... the hyd pump is a basic mechanical pump.could i find a bigger one?more pressure? more volume? wheres the smily icon shooting himself in the foot...lol asking for blowouts etc i know i know theres a grampa in every crowd( what in tarnation are ya brakin inyer corners for boy)...haha jk prison. doc my arm hurts when i do this:dang:....well dont do that then...; )

I modified my ps pump on my Jeep when I added the hydro-assist. :humm: Might work the same with the newer ones. I'll have to look into that.
