Somebody told me that sometimes the injectors get stuck open and fill the motor up with diesel, making it act locked up. anyone ever heard of this?

Find out from your uncle what exactly what was going on before it ''locked up''.If one or more injectors are hydrolocked,it's not really that big a deal to fix.You have the LLY version of the Dmax, great engine,I doubt very much if it needs to be rebuilt.Tell us more.

well, Like I said he had it stacked, He told me he could never turn it up all the way cuz it would go into limp mode. he said he shut it off, and it just wouldn't turn over when he tried to start it. He took it to the dealer and they wouldn't honor the warranty b/c of the egt sensor hole in the manifold. I went for a ride in it before it broke and that truck could keep up with my 12 s z28 so it definitely had some power.

BTW in south texas trucks haven't really lost much value yet. We're kindof unaffected by the whole economy thing.

they have to prove that the EGT probe, itself, caused to motor to fail before they can void a warranty claim like that.

I agree.. I cant see it tearing something up internally and not giving any other signs besides that it wont turn over..
