Wiring OEM Camera to Aftermarket HU
1 Attachment(s)
I have a Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD that i have had in my truck for a while.
Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD DVD receiver at Crutchfield.com I want to add a back up camera so i do not have to get out of the truck 3 times to line up a trailer. So i purchased an OEM Bezel and Camera from eBay. The issue is i am unsure on how to wire the camera up. On the back of the Head Unit there is a single RCA input. The OEM Camera has 6 wires. This is what i think each wire is: Yellow: Video + Brown: Video - Gray: Reverse Feed Red: Ignition + Black: Ground White: Shield I do not believe i have the stock wiring harness (i have not rummaged around to look). And i am also under the impression that the Camera is 6v so i will need a http://www.ebay.com/itm/DC-DC-Converter-12V-Step-down-to-6V-3A-15W-Power-Supply-Automatic-Recovery-/161094129139?pt=BI_Circuit_Breakers_Transformers&hash=item2581f555f3. I was gonna run the red to a 12v when key is on. Gray to the reverse positive Ground to ground Cap the White But lost on what to do with the Video positive and negitive. Any help would be great. |
I believe the Positive video will be the center of the RCA and the Negative will be the outer.
Anybody else know for sure? |

Call your local car audio guys and have them wire it for you. In a car audio shop in Washington and do tons of these. If its a 6volt camera you will have to use a micro relay to lower the voltage. If you still need a schematic message me and I can email an exact pdf
